Take a class or lessons this summer and participate in a student show at the Paradise Center for the Arts! (for students under 18 or still in school)
Free outdoor classes in the artist’s backyard will begin (weather pending) on April 23rd. Weather policy is as follows: class will be held if it is at least 45 degrees at the time of class and it is not storming. When there is light rain we will meet under the awning. If it is storming or below 45 degrees, we will meet online. The exception to this is the classes for ages 0-5 and the figure drawing class. We will not meet at all if it is raining and we will not meet online. You can register for these classes on Eventbrite using the links provided below. Kate is a fiscal year 2023 recipient of a Creative Support for Individuals grant from the Minnesota State Arts Board. This activity is made possible by the voters of Minnesota through a grant from the Minnesota State Arts Board, thanks to a legislative appropriation from the arts and cultural heritage fund.
Figure Drawing (in person, outdoors) Every other Sunday from April 23th-August 20th from noon-1. Sign up for one or all of these figure drawing classes. We will draw or paint from a clothed model. Bring your own art supplies or use the pencils and paper provided. The model will do one long pose with 2 breaks during the hour. You can do short sketches from different angles or one long drawing or painting by remaining in the same spot. These are mostly self-learning classes where you can ask for help getting started or ask any questions when they arise. Experienced artists very welcome to join too without instruction but please register so we know how many to expect in attendance. Register for free on Eventbrite
